Synthesis Strategies

Here are the results of the activity we did in class on synthesis essays the other day.  I was waiting for 2nd period, but you’re writing now so I’ll wait no longer.  Extra credit to those who posted their group’s results.  I’ve linked what 1st semester did as well for your edification.

Hey Giddings, is it weird if we use graphs or diagrams in our report?

  2.   Giddings Says:

Not necessarily. If they’re used well, then they can be very helpful.

How do you want us to cite our sources? I don’t remember if you told us or not.

  4.   Giddings Says:

Using MLA format. We’ll go over that a bit on Monday, but the MLA OWL site and the Easybib site under the AP links on the blog have what you need to know. If you aren’t sure, just cite them however it makes sense to you now and we’ll go over how to do it properly on Monday.

So I went to start my paper and I realized I don’t have my book. I can’t get it either because the school just waxed the floors. I was wondering if the articles are online somewhere and if they are where could I find them? Oh I hope you’re having a wonderful break.

    Chandra,
There are people here today. You could also make copies of the pages from someone else’s book. I’m not sure if they’re online or not, but you could try Proquest if they don’t show up on Google (instructions are on the portal in shared documents).

    Chandra,
I just spoke with Ms. Fox and she said if you want your book, you’d need to be here before 2:30 today. After that the office is closed for the rest of the day and tomorrow.

    Mr. G

PS I hope you’re having a good break as well. :)

Thank you. So I started writing my paper and I’m not sure if we can uses “I” in it, and I have.

This paper shouldn’t have I in it. It is essentially a researched argument and is a more formal paper. Thus it should be in 3rd person.
